Intending to search for lasting solutions on humanitarian response, the Fraternity – International Humanitarian Federation (FIHF) offered its refugees living in the Nova Canaã Shelter, in Roraima, the course ”Techniques for Waiters.”
Men and women, in this dynamic course which is entirely oriented to the refugees that live in the shelter, learned how to handle trays, how to serve tables and customers, as well as the basic principles of labor laws and technical Portuguese used when serving the Brasilian public.
More than a course, this is an opportunity for professional training and to integrate into the labor market in Brazil or any other place – says Hélio Araújo, coordinator of the course.
“With this certificate I will have a job in Brazil,” celebrated the refugee Yairis, armed with much hope as well as her waitress certificate.
